Deel verifies wallets before sending stablecoin salaries

Deel is adding Mesh ownership checks to stablecoin payouts, aiming to catch address and network errors before workers’ funds are sent.

The signal

Mesh said on August 20 that Deel is adding its verification tool to stablecoin salary payouts. Before funds move, recipients must prove they control the selected wallet or exchange account. Mesh claims integrations with more than 300 wallets and exchanges.

02

Why it matters

Stablecoin transfers are generally irreversible. A mistyped address or incompatible network can therefore make wages unrecoverable. Checking account control and compatibility before a transfer adds a practical safeguard to a payment option that Deel already offers employees and contractors.

03

What changes

The flow is meant to replace manual address entry with a verified connection. For self-hosted wallets, Mesh can use a cryptographic signature. For exchange accounts, it can match identity information. Deel still executes the payout, while Mesh says it neither holds nor moves the funds.

04

The caveat

The announcement does not name the stablecoins and networks enabled at Deel, give a full rollout timetable or disclose transaction volumes. Coverage and speed figures come from the two partners. Verification can reduce some errors, but it does not remove issuer, service-provider, account-freeze or mistaken-identity risks.

05

What to watch

Useful next markers are a public list of supported assets and networks, the countries actually enabled, failure rates before and after the integration, and the appeal process when a wallet cannot be verified.
